School is out, summer is officially here, and we can't help noticing a few more kids are out and about in our travels around the county!
For our July/August issue of Newnan-Coweta Magazine we decided to look at what some of these Coweta kids and youth are doing this summer, and I think you're going to be impressed.

You'll meet a teenage boy who has learned to cook in the 4-H program and a 12-year-old boy who plays cello and a host of other instruments.
And if you're not already familiar with the name Chalonda Goodman, you'll be impressed with how this recent Newnan High grad and track standout is setting records in the track world - and working on her dream of competing in the 2012 Olympics! |
If the kids cry "I'm bored!" once school is out, you will enjoy our list of 17 FREE things to do with the kids this summer. You can also read about kids who get a second chance in our feature on a therapy horse farm in Palmetto.
And speaking of free activities for children, be sure to have your child enter our Summer Coloring Contest. With three age divisions and prizewinners in each, it's a fun way for kids to win a prize and have their artwork published in the next issue of the magazine!.

As always we include local history, gardening and other features to round out this summer issue. It'll make for some great beach or lakeside reading, I promise! |
Enjoy,
